Report: IBM Widens Lead In Global Server Market

ARMONK, NY -- Feb 26, 2004 -- IBM today announced it is the world´s leading server vendor, in terms of revenue, for the 4th Quarter of 2003. According to the independent Gartner research, IBM led all vendors with a commanding 32 percent share of the global server market for the full year 2003, increasing overall revenue by 10 percent over 2002. Key Highlights:

In the UNIX market, IBM grew revenue 13 percent and gaining 3.8 points of share.
IBM increased its share of the Intel market, gaining 0.4 points of share YTY.
For the 4th quarter of 2003, IBM gained 2 points of share capturing 36 percent of the overall server market.

In terms of individual segment growth in the 4Q of 2003, IBM:

Had the top growth in revenue share among top-tier UNIX vendors,growing share 2.2 points YTY,
Has retained the top Linux share among all vendors, with 32.6 percent of the market.
