CA NAMES FORMER SUN EXECUTIVE, MARC LOUPÉ...

ISLANDIA, N.Y., August 1, 2005 – Computer Associates International, Inc. (NYSE:CA) today announced that Marc Loupé has joined the Company as senior vice president and head of internal audit, effective today. He will report to the Audit and Compliance Committee of CA´s Board of Directors and to Kenneth V. Handal, executive vice president, corporate secretary and general counsel.
“Marc´s addition to the Company demonstrates our continued commitment to the highest standards in financial controls and recruiting best-in-class talent to join our team,” said Handal. “His broad experience in dealing with the specific issues facing global technology companies adds a great source of financial, regulatory and compliance expertise to CA.”

In this role, Loupé will be responsible for overseeing all the Company´s internal audit and risk management functions, including assessing the adequacy of the internal controls associated with the Company´s financial, operational and information technology activities.

Loupé is a 17-year veteran of Sun Microsystems, where he most recently was vice president of Finance for the company´s product groups (software, processors, desktops, servers, storage and future technologies), and led that financial organization´s efforts to comply with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act. Prior to that role, he held various senior-level financial and operational assignments, including vice president of Finance for Worldwide Sales, vice president of Finance and Staff Operations for Software Products, and director of Internal Audit. He was a member of the company´s executive financial management group for the past 10 years.

Loupé earned a bachelor of science degree in business administration/accounting from California State University-San Luis Obispo and attended the Stanford Executive Program. A Certified Public Accountant, Loupé is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Business Advisory Council for California Polytechnic State University, the Financial Executive Institute and the Marin Association for Retarded Citizens. He is also the Technology Chairperson for the Museum of the African Diaspora in San Francisco.
