Open Workbench Continues To Thrive As Registered Users Top 5

ISLANDIA, N.Y., November 2, 2005 – Computer Associates International, Inc. (NYSE: CA) today announced that the number of registered users for its Open Workbench desktop project scheduling tool has exceeded 50,000, an increase of more than 60 percent since the beginning of the year. One of many open source projects currently supported by CA, Open Workbench is the first enterprise-class, free-of-charge project scheduling program, and is fully compatible with CA´s flagship IT Governance (ITG) solution, Clarity (formerly from Niku).

A new version of openworkbench.org also launched today. The enhanced site includes new features for fostering community participation including the ability for members to post tips and tutorials, share sample projects and templates, gain site administration rights, and track updates via RSS feeds.

Users of Open Workbench now span more than 170 countries — including the U.S., United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Canada, Belgium, Australia and Brazil. Notable 2005 milestones for the Open Workbench community include the release of Open Workbench 1.1 in January, which included improved usability and project resource management, a 50 percent increase in discussion board postings at openworkbench.org, and translation of the software into Czech by dataPartner Ltd., a developer based in the Czech Republic.
