Acer presents the new Aspire 5030 series: Turion powerhouse

This compact and versatile system is characterized by the latest AMD 64-bit mobile technology, excellent graphics and superior sound.

State-of-the-Art technology
The elegant and compact folio design hides a high-performance technological heart. The Acer Aspire 5030 is in fact based on AMD Turion 64 Mobile Technology supporting AMD PowerNow! technology for extended system battery life and HyperTransport technology ensuring ultra-fast communication between components, and split-second response times to user demands.

Sound and Vision
Compatible with S/PDIF, Sound Blaster Pro and Intel high-definition sound formats, the extraordinary Aspire 5030 delivers superior-quality sound for a highly-involving multimedia experience. Graphics are managed by the ATI RADEON® Xpress 200M, a 3D graphics engine supporting up to 128MB shared VRAM memory, Microsoft® DirectX® 9.0 and ATI Powerplay™ 5.0 support. The ATI RADEON® Xpress 200M also features HyperMemory, an innovative technology that reduces the amount of on-board memory on the graphics card without compromising its overall performance.

The Aspire 5030 provides a high-quality home entertainment experience. Thanks to its CD and DVD-burner capabilities, combined with S-Video/TV-out (NTSC/PAL) and Firewire 1394 connections, films can be enjoyed in breath-taking quality directly on compatible TV sets, and large DVD stored files can be transfered or recorded in no time at all.

Compactness
Compact in size, the Aspire 5030 weighs just 2.38 Kg yet features a bright 14.1” (WXGA res. 1280 x 800) Widescreen TFT display powered with Acer CrystalBrite technology – a glossy coating that prevents light diffusion – delivering superior contrast ratio, intense colour saturation and sharp images. The Aspire 5030 is also equipped with a software tool to enable full use of the widescreen format: Acer GridVista which supports simultaneous multi-window viewing in 3 different screen layouts, allowing you to organize your desktop for maximum efficiency.

Connectivity
The Acer Aspire 5030 offers a wide array of connectivity options. Seamless connection at home is provided via the integrated 56K ITU V.92 data/fax software modem and fast, wired LAN connections at 10/100 Mbps via the integrated Wake-on-LAN Gigabit network card in the office. The integrated mini-PCI IEEE 802.11b/g card supporting Acer SignalUp wireless technology provides wireless connectivity in places with access points or “Hot Spots” while personal devices can be connected through WPAN connection thanks to the integrated Bluetooth module (factory option).

The Aspire 5030, featuring base system memory of 512/1024MB DDR, scalable to 2048MB, and an ATA/100 HDD of up to 100GB, also comes complete with a DVD-Dual double layer burner built-in optical drive and a 5-in-1 card reader supporting Secure Digital (SD), MultiMediaCard (MMC), xD-Picture Card, Memory Stick and Memory Stick Pro.

All Acer Aspire 5030 notebooks are supplied with Microsoft® Windows® XP Home Edition preinstalled, while the Acer Arcade suite allows easy and comfortable management of all multimedia functions linked to the reproduction of audio content, CD / DVD burning and film editing. This suite also includes the exclusive Aspire CinemaVision™ video technology for an optimum reproduction of the 16:9 video format without distortion, and Aspire ClearVision™ to dynamically enhance contrast and increase definition of even the smallest detail.

The Acer Aspire 5030 notebooks also feature a range of additional software including Norton AntiVirus®, which can be updated directly over the Internet, Acer Launch Manager, Acer eManager (ePresentation, eRecovery and eSettings), Adobe® Reader® and NTI CD-Maker™.

The Acer Aspire 5030 series comes with a standard 1 year Carry–In Warranty (International Travellers Warranty - ITW) which can be extended to 3-years cover with the AcerAdvantage NewEdition service that also covers accidental damage to the notebook
