Acer and Emirates Sign Worldwide PC Deal

Jun 29, 2006 - Dubai, United Arab Emirates - Acer, the leading vendor in the notebook sector for EMEA – Europe, Middle East and Africa (source: Gartner data, 1Q 2006), today announced the completion of its deal to supply desktop computers to Emirates Airlines to satisfy its worldwide technology requirements.

“Having met the demand for desktops in the highly sophisticated Airline Industry, we are proud to be the supplier of choice that satisfies and exceeds the requirements for all of Emirates’ desktop operations in over 121 countries,” said Emanuele Accolla, Acer EMEA Vice President.

The three-year deal involving over 21,000 desktops, clearly demonstrates Acer’s industry-based capacity, complimenting its dedicated home and SMB business units.

This ensures our business departments are equipped to deliver on the expert support that our customers demand, and can consistently achieve industry-leading standards across all areas of our business,” said Saeed Mohammed, Emirates’ Senior Vice President Procurement and Logistics.

Clearly a partnership, particularly one between Acer and Emirates Airlines, two global leaders in their respective industries, is a highly-valued commodity and one which both companies will endeavour aim to maintain on a long-term basis.

“In many ways, Acer and Emirates share a similar history and corporate background. Both entered established business areas with existing worldwide players, yet each of us very rapidly became global leaders in our respective industries,” added Emanuele Accolla, Acer EMEA Vice President.

The deal sees Acer become the exclusive desktop supplier to Emirates Airline with its top-of-the line Acer Veriton 2800 series desktops.
