New version of Microsoft Baseline Security Analyzer (MBSA)

Microsoft has released version 1.2 of Microsoft Baseline Security Analyzer (MBSA), which includes extra features and supports new products.

The improvements incorporated in the new version of MBSA include alternate file support, a check for Internet Connection Firewall (ICF), and custom Internet Explorer zones interpretation.

The additional products supported by this version of MBSA compared to the previous version are the following: Exchange Server 2003, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Data Access Components (MDAC) 2.5, 2.6, 2.7 and 2.8, Microsoft Virtual Machine, MSXML 2.5, 2.6, 3.0 and 4.0, BizTalk Server 2000, 2002 and 2004, Commerce Server 2000 and 2002, Content Management Server (CMS) 2001 and 2002, SNA Server 4.0, and Host Integration Server (HIS) 2000 and 2004.

At the moment, version 1.2 of MBSA can be downloaded in English, German, French and Japanese. For more information:
