Vulnerabilities in Pocket IE
Madrid, January 31, 2005 - SecuriTeam has reported multiple security flaws in Pocket IE, the version of Internet Explorer designed for PDAs, which can be used to steal local and/or confidential data and user names and passwords.
These vulnerabilities include the use of the
tag to carry out Cross-Site Scripting attacks. Another flaw allows local files to be accessed and loaded in the browser in order to view them or launch them with the default program.
As Pocket IE does not include all the features of Internet Explorer, attackers cannot use certain techniques to exploit the vulnerabilities detected.
