Madrid, June 29, 2005 - Adobe has reported, at http://www.adobe.com/support/techdocs/331709.html, a vulnerability in Adobe Reader and Adobe Acrobat for Mac OS, which could allow a remote attacker to run arbitrary applications on affected systems.
The flaw could allow a remote attacker to create a PDF file containing specially crafted JavaScript code. When the target user opened the PDF file, the script code could launch applications, providing that the attacker knew the full path of the file. The applications would run with the privileges of the target user.
Adobe has released version 7.0.2 of Adobe Reader and Adobe Acrobat that fix this problem at: www.adobe.com/support/downloads/.
