Panda Software has joined the list of patrons of FUNDETEC, which includes Red.es (organization attached to Spain’s Ministry for Industry, Tourism and Commerce), HP, Intel, Microsoft, Telefónica and El Corte Inglés. The principal aim of the foundation is to develop and promote the Information Society.

Panda Software is the first new company to become a patron of FUNDETEC, since it was set up in October 2004. The extensive experience of the international IT security company, currently celebrating its 15th anniversary, combined with its in-depth knowledge of the world security market, make it a key strategic ally for FUNDETEC. “We fully support FUNDETEC’s initiatives”, explains Jose Mª Hernandez, VP International Expansion at Panda Software. “Our 15 years of experience in the IT security sector complement FUNDETEC’s initiatives in contributing to the development of the Information Society.”

Panda Software will be participating in all initiatives created by the foundation, offering specialized knowledge through three lines of action: information, training and development of protection tools to keep the computer resources of businesses and home users free from the effects of all types of malware.

Panda Software dedicates a great deal of its time and resources to raising awareness and training Internet users -businesses and individuals- with respect to IT security. The company has already initiated a series of campaigns to promote safer use of the Internet, including last summer´s pioneering IT security campaign for home users and their campaign this year – “Children and the Internet: Don’t let them talk o strangers”- aimed at making parents aware of the risks their children run when using the Internet without supervision. Another campaign, which began this summer and has been run in collaboration with Red.es and other institutions, is designed to raise the awareness of Spanish SMBs of the importance to their businesses of security protection.
