New version of OpenSSH

New version of OpenSSH

Madrid, September 5, 2005 - Version 4.2 of OpenSSH (*) has been released -at http://www.openssh.org/  - which fixes several vulnerabilities detected in previous versions. It also includes improvements in the encryption methods and its code has been revised to prevent security flaws.

The vulnerabilities resolved in the new version of OpenSSH include one that affects version 4.0 and causes the ports used by Gateway to be incorrectly activated for dynamic forwardings to ports when an address is not specified. What´s more, version 4.2 adds a new compression method that delays the compression process until the user has been successfully authenticated.
