Madrid, February 7 2006 - Adobe has confirmed the existence of a vulnerability in Adobe Creative Suite 2, Adobe Photoshop CS2 and Adobe Illustrator CS2, for Windows or Mac OS, that could be exploited by local users to execute code and elevate privileges on system.
The problem lies in the fact that the software is installed with file and folder permissions that could allow a local user to replace programs with malicious code that could read, overwrite or destroy sensitive data.
Adobe has classified the advisory, published at http://www.adobe.com/support/techdocs/332644.html, as important and has included the updates to resolve this security problem. Given the wide range of platforms and products affected, it is advisable to refer to the original Adobe advisory in order to access the addresses from which the updates can be downloaded.
