A new update (version 2.03) to the secure content management appliance, Panda GateDefender Performa, is available free of charge to current users. This update includes support for SNMP and Syslog standard report generation. Panda GateDefender Performa thereby further enhances the management, reporting and network protection capabilities that were already certified by ICSA Labs and by NSS through its NSS Approved seal of approval for GateDefender 8200.

Thanks to its support for SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol), Panda GateDefender Performa can transmit, at any time, appliance status variables and events. All this data can be monitored centrally through a single console, as can all the other devices distributed on the network. This gives the network administrator complete control over the network and allows integration of several Panda GateDefender Performa units in widely distributed networks.

In addition, its powerful report generation tool has been boosted by the inclusion of the Syslog standard, offering administrators greater uniformity in analysis of results and network events that could have affected processing of the traffic passing through GateDefender Performa. This possibility greatly facilitates the job of network administrators, as it simplifies management and maintenance of network security as well as the recovery of normal workflow should an incident affect normal network traffic flow.
